MAPS & INFORMATION
Through The Daintree
Our 4 day ride through the Daintree Rainforest was planned around two main tracks – The CREB and Bloomfield. Two steep, clay/gravel tracks, which are normally home to only the most savvy 4WD enthusiasts. Below are the maps of each day’s route, as well as links to the Strava data (in case you'd like to download the GPX files for your own navigational purposes).
We rode our Giant TCX cyclocross racing bikes, modified slightly to handle the more savage gradients. Although, honestly, even if you go with a 1:1 ratio, you will suffer on these climbs.
We chose to camp on this trip, but also had the luxury of a support vehicle to carry our gear. You could just as easily plan a similar trip, built around staying at local accommodation, with plenty of pubs offering accomodation.
Day 2: The CREB Track
Sleeping:We camped at the Lion Den Hotel. They have cabins or the option to camp, and obviously it's a pub, so food & beers are sorted.
Warning:Keep a very sharp eye out at the Daintree River crossing – crocs are very common in the area, and could easily be hidden from view.

Day 3: The Bloomfield Track
Sleeping:We camped at the Cape Tribulation Camping site. A seriously well-equipped campsite, with communal kitchen & bathrooms, as well as a bar & pizza restaurant!
